Popularity of graphic novels just keeps growing

Younger readers seemed to have an insatiable desire for these lavishly illustrated books, sending librarians and chain bookstores scrambling to meet demand. The New York Times and Entertainment Weekly were regularly reviewing them. Hollywood began making movies based on them. Now academia embraces and celebrates them, too. At Stanford University, graphic novels are not just discussed, but also produced by students.
